The Ovingham Hotel
Sector: Hospitality
Duration: 30 weeks
Size: 1500m2
We were engaged under a Design and Construct to work collaboratively with Star Hotel Group and Studio Nine Architects, to refurbish the former Bombay Bicycle Club, now back to its original name, The Ovingham Hotel.
Numerous changes were made to remove a large portion of the ornate embellishment throughout the hotel whist retaining some legacy elements synonymous with the iconic hotel. Key works included new flooring, feature timber wall panelling, painting throughout, management of client-procured furniture installation, reconfiguration of the Gaming Room, structural modifications, banquette seating, TAB, “the best place for sport” sports bar, bistro bar and whisky bar refurbishment.
Flanked by the original stone walls, led light windows and ceiling mounted bikes that institutionalised this great city-fringe hotel, the final result provided brighter, contemporary and connected spaces to enhance the patron experience.
Our flexible, solutions focussed approach ensured all client variations could be accommodated throughout the construction period whilst maintaining business operations throughout the entire programme.
